Born in the UK, raised in Zimbabwe and boarding-schooled back in the UK, Adrian spent his youth hitch-hiking around the world, something still possible in the 1980s and 1990s. After a decade working as an adventure tour leader for Explore Worldwide (UK) in India (6 years), Egypt (2 years), Jordan, Syria, Israel, Morocco, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Peru, the Galapagos Islands, and much of Europe, Adrian married an American and emigrated to the US in 1992, where he started his own successful tour operator business (10 employees), line producing documentary film crews and designing and running specialist travel itineraries for universities, schools, art museums and special interest groups. After taking a second degree (double major political science & journalism) at the University of Washington in his late 40s, Adrian now runs the customization department for Adventures Abroad – one of Canada’s premier travel companies. Extensively traveled, Adrian‘s great love is history and cultural comparisons, and he lauds as essential the wisdom and perspective that traveled individuals bring back to their respective cultures. Only the breaking of artificial of ‘comfort zones’ allows one’s perceptions on life to grow. The entrapment of America’s youth in college debt might be very profitable for the leadership, but it contributes greatly to the uniquely American absence of wisdom and perspective in domestic America. The one great common denominator in life is to recognize that we are all the same – a perspective and factual realization almost impossible for those who never leave home.

Born and grown up in Munich, I love to travel, to learn about foreign cultures, lifestyle and history. Since I was young, I was always creative in many different ways which logically lead to the decision to study design.
After 4 years of studying interior architecture and some years of practice creating interiors for residences and offices, I got the chance to work with Reiner Heim Aircraft Interior Design, based in Munich.
For ten years I was with his team designing bespoke interiors for various customers and aircraft types mainly in cooperation with a well-known completion center.
After many fruitful years with Reiner Heim I decided to start my own business and become an independent designer. Since 2010 I have been working with clients and aviation facilities worldwide.
My brand name UNIQUE AIRCRAFT arose from a sentence a customer representative said to me once: “YOU were the one who made our aircraft UNIQUE”
My passion is to design interiors making the passengers forget the inconvenience of long-distance travels. My target is to create an atmosphere of recreation and energy recharging. Using colours and materials to support this aspect as well as studying cultural and traditional styles and implementing those in the design is one of my key preferences.
