Andrew Charlier is an experienced transactional lawyer specialising in yachts and superyachts, business aviation and general business and finance. He is a qualified English solicitor.
Prior to joining HFW, Andrew was the global head of yachting for another international law firm and he has extensive experience advising clients on all aspects of the yachting industry, including the purchase and sale, construction, financing, chartering and registration of large yachts. His practice also covers business aviation transactions namely negotiation and documentation of sales, purchases, finance and leasing, management, regulatory issues, corporate structuring and registration.
In general corporate and commercial matters, Andrew provides advice on commercial contracts, employment, insolvency, disposals of companies, businesses and assets, start-ups, joint ventures and shareholder agreements.

Quentin Bargate qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and has since spent his entire career in top City of London law firms, including running his own highly regarded firm, Bargate Murray, where he is head of the firm’s Superyacht and Dispute Resolution Groups as well as being the firm’s CEO. Quentin says: “In 2004, I fulfilled a lifetime ambition when I set up my own law firm, Quentin Bargate & Co. (renamed Bargate Murray in 2006). We incorporated in 2013. He founded and led various trade associations, such as Wind Europe and drove other organisations through major transformations such as the World Nuclear Association, the European Biofuels association and the European robotics association.
He has been active on the international policy-making scene and was an accredited expert to the United Nations. He participated in the negotiations of the UN Convention on climate change for more than fifteen years. An active speaker, Christophe had delivered more than 300 presentations at conferences worldwide, from United Nations plenary sessions to small village halls in the Arctic.
