On the 16th of February 2018 in Moscow the II Wings of Business Award for the Highest Achievements in the Field of Business Aviation Ceremony will take place. The Award is established by the Russian United Business Aviation Association.
Each year RUBAA Board approves the regulation of the Award, which is published at the project web-site www.wingsaward.ru. The regulation, in particular, provides the list of nominations which will comprise the current competition.
Major categories are kept without changes, but some of them can be modified with consideration of experience of previous editions, market conjuncture, etc.

Thus, one of novelties of this year was improvement of the category “The Best Aircraft”: yet in April 2017 RUBAA Board took the decision to change its formulation. Now the “Most Popular Aircraft” will be chosen. Then, both for objectivity and in order to demonstrate the market capacity the nomination was split into three categories – light aircraft (up to 10 tons), mid-size aircraft (10 – 30 tons), heavy aircraft (over 30 tons).
Besides the received applications (and which are still accepted before the 31st of January 2018) there are published online profiles of “most popular” aircraft: exactly these jets made most of flights at Vnukovo airport in Moscow. Likewise in other nominations, the most popular aircraft will be specified by a total rate formed by 10% by online votes and by 90% by results of RUBAA Members personal voting. There will be three winners – one in each category.
Results will be announced at the II Wings of Business Award, tickets to the ceremony are already now available at www.wingsaward.ru.

Two months are left before the II Wings of Business Award Ceremony – the award for the highest achievements in business aviation in Russia. The ceremony will take place on the 16th of February 2018 in Moscow, at MIR concert and banquet hall. Now work with nominees, partners and sponsors of the project is in process. Here are some current achievements and results.

• The Award is introduced in 13 nominations. Any organization busy in a relevant sector can apply for nominating till the 31st of January 2018. The only exception is the nomination “For the major contribution to the development of business aviation in Russia”, where RUBAA Board will decide on the winner. Now there are 47 applications received and published, they are all present at www.wingsaward.ru.
• At the ceremony up to 220 guests are to be hosted. Attending the ceremony is subject to ticket purchase. Tickets are available online at www.wingsaward.ru or one can send a request to jury@wingsaward.ru. There will be 20 tables covered for 11 guests each. A perfect solution is to book an entire table for own company or for inviting clients and partners. As of now 100 of 220 seats – almost half of available – are booked. Evening dress-code is black-tie, so gentlemen are expected with butterfly ties and ladies in evening dresses.
• Sponsors and partners of the evening – due to their support it is possible to organize both the award and the ceremony. Wings of Business Award is a perfect place and a unique format to promote one’s services at the business aviation market. Wide information campaign, as well as a unique community – top of the Russian business aviation industry present at the ceremony – provide sponsors with a return from the project. • Who will become the winner? This will be decided by the professional community. Till the 31st of January 2018 the award web-site offers online voting – any visitor can vote at www.wingsaward.ru. Right after that, on 1-3 of February 2018 Members of the Russian United Business Aviation Association will vote personally. Member organizations will receive special voting lists and will have an opportunity to give their voice for one participant in each nomination. Exactly these personal votes will form 90% of the total rate of each participant, and the one who has the highest rate will be the winner. The award jury elected by RUBAA Board will confirm the correctness of calculations, signing the relevant protocol.

Now, in mid-December, Wings of Business Award organizational committee and the Russian United Business Aviation Association call for everyone, who works in business aviation and is relevant to its Russian sector, to actively participate in the project! On the 6th September 2017, during the RUBAA Business Aviation Forum in Moscow, an announcement was made regarding The 2nd Awards Ceremony for the Wings of Business, launched to celebrate the highest achievements in the field of business aviation. Wings of Business Awards were originally created by RUBAA Executive Director, Anna Serezhkina, and Mikhail Titov, Director General, Bizav Systems Ltd., once again the project partner for the awards.

The inaugural Wings of Business comprised 13 awards categories, announced at an exclusive reception at the Moscow Golf Club. What is awaiting the market leaders this year? How will the Awards be structured this year?

What is waiting for the most advanced market players this time? How will the nominations be structured and why? Anna and Mikhail answered these questions during the presentation.

Popular categories from last year that remain unchanged included best business aviation airline, best general aviation operator, best foreign business aviation airline, best maintenance company, best flight support company, best broker, best service company and best project of the year in business aviation of Russia.
What are the new categories?

To reflect the realities of the market, RUBAA has decided to revise some of the awards categories. Thus, catering for business aviation has received a separate category. Best infrastructure for business aviation / FBO is now split into two nominations, i.e. Russian Federal and regional cities. Business aviation aircraft will be evaluated not as “the best” but as “most popular” and split into three categories: light, mid-size and heavy jets. The Award for the contribution to the development of business aviation in Russia is new, and the winner will be selected by the RUBAA Board.
“The amendments have been carefully considered over a period of time and they make a lot of sense in today`s industry”, says Anna Serezhkina, RUBAA Executive Director.
Catering companies which are widely presented on the market will compete between themselves, and not with cleaning or air training service-providers. Airports not located in Moscow or St. Petersburg will still have a chance to win the prize without competing with major airports. This development will create an opportunity to demonstrate our range of Russian infrastructure. We therefore invite everyone to apply for the awards.

Who decides the winners?
Winners of the 12 categories (except for the Russian business aviation award) will be specified b RUBAA Members.

How will the voting be executed?
On 11th September, the organization committee will start to accept applications. They will be published on the award website on 1st of November, when the first voting stage will start. This online voting will be open until 31st of January 2018.
Wings of Business Award – the long-term goal

The purpose of the award is to support and award those who represent the business aviation market in Russia at its best. Winners will benefit from the unparalleled profile and prestige that a Wings of Business Award brings. It is for this reason that it is essential that the selection of award winners id done by an independent, non-commercial organization, such as RUBAA.
Unlike other similar projects, Wings of Business Award does not promote any interests or advertise any service.

The organizers of the VI Baltic Business Aviation Forum (BBAF), taking place in Jurmala, Latvia, on 10 August 2017 have announced that the registration for the conference is now live: www.quaynote.com or www.bbaf.aero.

In a major boost to this annual event, Riga International Airport has announced its support for the VI Baltic Business Aviation Forum (BBAF).

Taking place on 10 August, 2017, BBAF will take place for the sixth year running in Jurmala, Latvia. The forum comprises a conference followed by a tour of the Riga International Airport and the FBO RIGA Business Aviation Centre.
Ilona Lice, Chairman of the Board of the Riga International Airport is glad to welcome the forum guests: “This is not the first year that we will welcome the guests of the BBAF. Business aviation is an important branch of the airport performance. But we have plenty to show the delegates besides our dedicated business aviation terminal.
